Clearbell progresses planning permission application for industrial development site in Maidstone

Clearbell Property Partners III LP (Clearbell), a fund managed by Clearbell Capital LLP, announces that the reserved matters application for the first phase of a planned redevelopment scheme has been submitted for a 33-acre industrial site in Maidstone, Kent.

At acquisition, the site already benefited from outline planning permission, and a revised Masterplan was approved by Maidstone Borough Council earlier this year. This next application sets out the details for the layout and appearance of the site, which includes substantial landscaping, construction of new units and installation of electric vehicle charging points, a water capture scheme and solar energy panels.

Clearbell added the site to its existing Richard portfolio of multi-let industrial (MLI) assets in June this year, further to the increasing demand for industrial and logistics assets across the UK.

Nick Berry, Partner of Clearbell Capital LLP and the Development Manager of this site, said:

“We are pleased to be moving forward with the next stage of our planned developments for the site. They aim to bring significant economic benefits to the local area, including employment opportunities and high-quality space for businesses.

Industrial and logistics space has been highly sought-after since the outbreak of the pandemic. We hope we are soon able to start work on the site and develop a well-located business park that can help satisfy the demand for space of this nature in the South East.”
