London, 31st October 2023Clearbell Capital is promoting Alice Murray to the position of Head of Asset Management & Sustainability.

As Head of Asset Management & Sustainability, Alice will be responsible for leading on the ongoing development and implementation of Clearbell’s ESG strategy across the firm’s portfolio and continue to lead all asset management activities. She will report into Rob West, Managing Partner.

Alice joined the Asset Management team in August 2021, having previously worked at Orchard Street Investment Management and as part of the City agency team at Savills.

Alice previously held the role of Asset Management & Sustainability Director and was instrumental in developing Clearbell’s ESG-focused Asset Management approach, ensuring that each of the firm’s Asset and Property Managers operate within a clear, shared framework aimed at delivering sustainable and successful, purpose-led investments.

In her new role, Alice will continue this work, as well as supervise the development of Clearbell’s new environmental management system aimed at providing colleagues with the tools and skills they need to embed ESG in the day-to-day management of both assets and the company and to build awareness of the firm’s ESG commitments and approach among stakeholders and investors.

Alice Murray, Head of ESG & Sustainability at Clearbell said: “ESG commitments are no longer just part of a fund’s fiduciary responsibility to its investors. It has become vital that stewardship of property assets generates value beyond financial returns. Funds must ensure that they are delivering sustainable projects and that they are better representing their stakeholders.

I’m thoroughly grateful for the opportunity to take Clearbell’s ESG strategy forward and ensure that it delivers for our investors, our colleagues, our tenants, and our stakeholders. This is work that can’t be done in silos, however, and so I’ll be working to ensure that all Clearbell colleagues are embedded in a culture that prioritises ESG considerations in all avenues of their work.”

Rob West, Managing Partner at Clearbell said: “ESG principles are core to our mission at Clearbell. We believe that financial performance and purpose aren’t mutually exclusive, and that ESG is essential for delivering value for investors. It is a rapidly developing and complex field, however. This is why it is more important than ever that we have the right talent and strategy to ensure that we’re keeping ESG at the heart of our investment approach and asset management. We’re thrilled to have Alice leading on this front for us, ensuring that we continue to put ESG at the heart of everything we do, and that we’re making strides and leading on key environmental, socio-economic and governance issues.”
